Renovated dual-family vacation cabin accommodates up to 16 guests! Get lost in the rustic luxury of this spacious retreat, featuring dual living spaces, 2 kitchens, 5 bedrooms plus loft bunks and game room! Enjoy the lake forest scenery from the multi-tier deck terrace or explore the natural cliff rock along the private path to the lake. Guests can fish, kayak, paddle board and swim right from the property shoreline! Located just 1 hour from Louisville, Mammoth Cave and Holiday World.
Good to know
Cabin with newer addition that doubles the living space. 4 of the 6 bedrooms/sleeping spaces are on the second floor and require stairs to access. The front drive offers parking for a max of 6 vehicles; from the front drive to the front door there is 6 wide steps down. The double cabin sits on steep, rocky/wooded land. Gravel paths connect the fire pit area to the driveway and down to the lake. Lake is also accessible via deck steps from the house. This property is perfect for families vacationing or celebrating the holidays together. The lodge sits in a quiet, private neighborhood where friendly neighbors value respect, peace and quiet. We have a zero tolerance policy for parties. Quiet hours must be respected, 11pm-7am. The lake water level will vary throughout the year. The Corp of Engineers (COE) controls the water level and lowers the water level every winter to a “winter pool” and then slowly raises it starting in April to the Summer level. Summer pool is from Memorial Day-October 15th.

Lake Forest is a cozy community on the north end of Rough River.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire house with exceptions to the garage and the dock. We share the dock with our next door neighbors and the Corps of Engineers does not allow renters to use the home owner’s docks for boating, fishing, swim etc., however, renters can fish, swim, or put in a kayak from the shore next to the dock.

The dual-cabin setup offers parking spaces with gravel surfaces that can comfortably fit between 6 to 8 vehicles. From these parking zones, a set of six broad steps, which are not steep, lead downwards to the main entrance of the house.
